Wind Mitigation Committee of the HBAGNO Remodelers Council

MISSION STATEMENT:

The HBAGNO Wind Mitigation Task Force, formed under the Remodelers Council of the HBAGNO (Home Builder’s Association of Greater New Orleans) and in conjunction with LSUCCC (Louisiana State Uniform Construction Code Council), seeks to lower insurance costs throughout Louisiana by:

1) EDUCATING wind mitigation surveyors on correct form data input.

2) NOTIFYING the public on the benefits of a wind-mitigation survey and code-compliant construction upgrades to their homes.

3) LIMITING catastrophic exposure of insurance carriers by informing them of the wind resistant construction and/or upgrades of all homes.

4) CREATING a searchable public database for resiliently constructed and updated code compliant homes throughout Louisiana.
