This event welcomes all members and prospective members to network, enjoy the season’s sweetest treats, and connect with others in a lively and festive atmosphere. Don’t miss this chance to celebrate the best time of the year with us!

Meet Our Guest Speaker: Matt Haines
Matt Haines is a celebrated writer and the author of The Big Book of King Cake, the first-ever coffee table book dedicated to the beloved Mardi Gras treat. His book showcases 75 of his favorite Carnival cakes and the talented bakers behind them.The Big Book has sold more than 17,500 copies since it was released in 2022, and it was featured on CBS Sunday Morning, mentioned in The New York Times, and became an Amazon bestseller
Matt’s writing journey began in 2017 when he hiked the 2,189.7-mile Appalachian Trail from Georgia to Maine. After completing the 159-day trek, he returned to New Orleans and pursued writing professionally. Since then, his work has been featured in The New York Times, The Times-Picayune | The New Orleans Advocate, and many more. He enjoys writing about food, travel, and the unique stories that connect people and places.
When he’s not writing, Matt can be found exploring New Orleans, discovering national parks, or traveling to new destinations.
