Day of Education Topics:

9:00 AM    Human Resources Best Practices: Risk Management & Workman’s Comp & Labor Laws & Contractors by Delta Administrative Services; Learn essential federal employment laws and best practices to improve employee relations and business outcomes. This course covers key regulations—including FLSA, Equal Pay Act, ADEA, ADA, and more—empowering employers with practical tools and knowledge for effective human resource management. 

10:00 AM OSHA & The Construction Industry by Sherry Callaway & Elizabeth Cornell; Students will learn the critical role of OSHA compliance in protecting both their workers and their operations.  The class will offer practical guidance on how to apply OSHA resources in workplace health and safety risks and preventive measures they can employ.

10:30 AM Cyber Security by Mike Zenzer, Technology Edge; The class will discuss types of hacking, the incident of cyber hacking, the cost for security breaches, and impacts that cyber security has on businesses.  It will cover protecting one’s business on the internet with Microsoft, Norton, and other types of protection and discuss implications for cyber insurance.

11:30 AM Business Software by Nancy Kirkeby, HBAGNO; Students will receive an overview of social media uses and become familiar with demographics, projected uses, major platforms, influence and dominant factor use and the significance of the internet on their businesses.

1:00 PM Contacts and Warranties by Michael LeCorgne; Gain practical knowledge of contracts and warranties specific to residential construction, empowering you to navigate legal requirements and protect your business and clients.

2:00 PM Managing Your Taxes by Kyle Youngberg, CPA; Students will become familiar with money saving deductions, credits, and strategies to lower their tax bill.  They will learn how to stay compliant and how to avoid costly mistakes or late fees.

3:00 PM Unraveling the Mysteries of Showers & Mirrors by Chris Van Pelt; This class provides builders, contractors, and designers with practical insights into the planning, design, and installation of glass and mirrors in residential and commercial projects, highlighting common applications, design considerations, and real-world examples to help participants make informed decisions and avoid common pitfalls.
